Costica Dumbrava is postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Political Science of Maastricht University (Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences) and the executive coordinator of the Maastricht Centre for Citizenship, Migration, and Development (MACIMIDE). He has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute. He has been citizenship and migration expert in many international projects and teams, such as the European Union Democracy Observatory on Citizenship and Transnational Migration in Transition- EURA-NET.
Dumbrava's areas of expertise include citizenship, migration, nationalism, and society & technology. His book entitled "Nationality, Citizenship and Ethno-Cultural Belonging: Preferential Membership Policies in Europe" was published in 2014 by Palgrave Macmillan. He also published articles in international journals such as the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, the Journal of Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Ethnopolitics.
