Costica Dumbrava is a critical thinker, policy analyst and researcher. He has a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from the European University Institute and MA degrees in European Union Studies (Leiden University) and in Nationalism Studies (Central European University). His areas of expertise include migration, citizenship, borders, citizenship & technology.

His book entitled 'Nationality, Citizenship and Ethno-Cultural Belonging: Preferential Membership Policies in Europe' was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2014. He has published articles in international journals, such as the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and Ethnic and Racial Studies. He has written briefings and studies on EU migration, asylum, borders and information systems. He writes the blog citizenwithaview.com.
